Description

The sensor uses a user replaceable CR2032 battery.

Battery life is up to 10 months with regular training for 1 hour per day.

The sensor is capable of measuring heart rate underwater and records it in its memory.

The moment the athlete comes out of the water, the sensor transfers the readings to a compatible sports watch. The sensor is capable of recording up to 20 hours of training during a swim.

Recommended depth 50m.

Garmin HRM TRI

Garmin HRM Tri is designed for use in triathlon.

Heart rate measurement works in the same way as the HRM Swim - both function like a regular heart rate sensor, but while in the water the sensor is able to store the measured data in its memory and transfer the data to the watch's memory when you emerge from the pool.

The HRM Tri sensor, however, is also equipped with an accelerometer (similar to the HRM RUN sensors), which is able to measure the amount of time the runner's foot makes contact with the ground and the height of the runner's bounce while running.

The HRM Tri can thus be fully deployed for swimming, running and cycling.

Intrinsic functioning, heart rate measurement during swimming

Self-contained sensors are used in the same way as regular chest belts.

When the sporttester is turned on, they pair and display the current heart rate on the watch display.

The heart rate is available on the display until the belt is submerged in water. During swimming (underwater), the heart rate is not displayed on the display.

When you swim and surface from the water in shallow water with the watch and chest sensor, the current heart rate will immediately begin to appear on the display. When the recording is complete, the display will indicate that the watch is trying to locate and download heart rate records from the connected HRM Swim or HRM Tri sensor.

If you are on land, this will take place within seconds.

If you were in water during the storage (and the sensor was submerged), you would need to put the watch and the electronics on the sensor in close proximity.

Then the watch will download data from the sensor even underwater. Once the watch has downloaded the data, a normal activity save occurs and activity information is available in the watch history or in even more detail in the Garmin Connect log on your mobile phone or computer.Compatible with Forerunner 920XT, fenix3, epix
